At the Nawrocki Center, you will always find someone you can talk to - someone who cares what happens to you and your family. We have built a people-focused law firm that goes beyond what most law firms do for their clients. In addition to offering professional legal counsel from experienced family and elder law lawyers, we offer other supportive services, such as assisting families with arranging in-home care or nursing home care when the need arises.
With a lawyer accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), we offer a wide range of services focused on helping America's military veterans coordinate additional benefits they are entitled to receive. Our veteran's benefits lawyer offers experience in the VA system to effectively seek care and financial help that preserves their qualification under elder care programs.
Is Nursing Home Care Inevitable? Planning for Long-Term Care is vital.
Our firm offers free guides to help clients preparing to place a loved one in a retirement community or nursing home: "The Michigan Nursing Home Guide" and "Long-Term Care Planning 2009". These guides will help you learn how to find the right nursing home, how to get good care and how to pay for it without going broke. The guides also provide information about Medicaid planning and division of assets. We also offer the booklet "Alzheimer's Guide." Our law firm offers the guides free as a courtesy to clients. For a free copy of any of these guides, call our Brighton law office today: (866) 737-5007.
The Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has established a website available to the public which provides ratings of nursing facilities. They review and audit over 180 different items covering all major aspects of care in a skilled nursing facility. They inspect the buildings, the medical records, the residents, the cleanliness, the staffing hours per resident and much more. Go to : Nursing Home Compare

It is critical for adults who have children with disabilities to understand the Disabled Adult Children benefit program of Social Security. Social Security considers this to be a "child's benefit" because it is paid on a parent's earnings record, not the child's. To receive benefits under this program, the child need not have ever worked. The qualifications for these benefits are:
The adult child must have a disability recognized by social security and have been diagnosed before age 22.
The adult child must be unmarried.
The adult child's parent must be deceased or receiving social security retirement or disability benefits.
Personal injury laws in Michigan give you the right to pursue legal compensation for damages when the negligent actions of another leave you injured or cause the death of a loved one.
