Now offering a beautiful outdoor Event & Wedding Venue in downtown Ann Arbor at Washington House.
Burnt Toast Inn is located at 415 W. William in Ann Arbor's historic Old West Side, just three short blocks west of Main Street. We are WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING! The house was built in 1915 in the simple, strong style of the early German settlers (Foursquare). The Burnt Toast Inn features a lovely Master Suite with its large bathtub and spacious tiled shower. The Attic Suite features an attached bathroom with large, fully-tiled two-person shower. There are two single rooms (the Purple and Gold Rooms) that share two bathrooms on the first and second floors (one with a claw foot tub and the other with a fully tiled shower). We accept cash, check, VISA and mastercard.
Just 2 blocks away on Washington St., we offer Washington House for single room rental or whole house accommodations. Washington House offers travelers a more private, self-sufficient option, with full kitchen available and parking lot. Washington House is a fabulous location for weddings and events. The beautifully landscaped yard and parking lot are available for events with whole house rental.
There are many fine restaurants in the neighborhood such as the Chop House, Palio, Gratzi, the Earle, Shalimar (Indian), Blue Nile (Ethiopian), Aut Bar and many more. Along with fine dining, you will find many fun shops for clothing, home decorating and jewelry along Main and nearby streets. Of special interest are: Red Shoes, Acme Merchantile, Peaceable Kingdom, 16 Hands, Selo/Shevel Gallery, Treasure Mart and Hollander's at Kerrytown Shops.
Areas of entertainment include: The Ark (folk music), The Blind Pig (live rock, popular), The Cavern Club (dance), The Firefly Jazz Club, The Michigan Theatre (art film), The State Theatre (film), The Power Center and Hill Auditorium (home to many University Musical Society performances) the University of Michigan Athletic Campus and much more - all within walking distance.
We offer a breakfast that features a variety of delicious pastries, bagels and choice of cereals along with excellent locally-roasted organic "Burnt Toast" coffee, tea, juices and fresh fruit. Weather permitting this can be enjoyed out on the deck or front porch. There are a number of good breakfast places nearby such as Café Zola, The Broken Egg, Sweetwater Cafe and, a bit further, the well-known Zingerman's Deli.
Get active at Ann Arbor School of Yoga and The Movement Center (both offer a discount to Burnt Toast Inn guests with minimum 2 night stay) or at the Ann Arbor YCMA (YMCA members only) or at Vie Fitness & Spa, all a short walk from either house.
The Burnt Toast Inn houses The Antique Shed, an antique and art gallery, featuring primarily Japanese art including kimono, prints, fabric and pottery, which is open to guests of the Bed and Breakfast.
There are two resident dogs: Bojangles (goes by "Bo") and Buddy. Both are very sweet. (See photos at right. Buddy is in the car and Bo is with Sarah.)
Our goal at the Burnt Toast Inn is to have our guests feel as if they have "gotten away from it all" for a while. Therefore, there are no televisions, phones or computers to be found (although there are electrical outlets in every room of course!). Wireless internet throughout. Due to the layout and the presence of a dog this is an adult only B & B.
We look forward to seeing you!
