Hmmm, 1946, the postwar era of economic boom. It's the year Clyde E. Coller opened Jerry's Fishing Resort on Tawas Point, Michigan. Jerry's Marina actually got it's name from Jerry's Unrecorded Plat, so there was never a Jerry in the Coller family. So why change a widely recognizable name? Jerry's Marina is now entering it's 60th year in the boating business.
There have been many changes to Jerry's Marina over the last 60 years in business. Initially, Jerry's catered to the fisherman going after the famous Tawas Bay perch. We maintained a tackle shop, cottages, and numerous wooden fishing rowboats. Today, we operate as a full service marina with 200 boat slips, complete repair service department, parts & accessories, and new & used boat and motor sales. In addition to these services is a Convenience store (Lake to Bay Groceries) and fully renovated cottages sleeping 4-14 Timberlane Resorts. Concerning the recent low water levels on the Great Lakes, Jerry's Marina is in pretty decent shape. We were around in the early 60's, when Lake Huron levels were a foot and a half lower than today. We've seen the low water cycle before, so it's not quite the surprise to us. So we've got plenty of water and everyone's beach is twice as big. What can be better than that?
We are located on Tawas Point between Lake Huron and Tawas Bay. You can enjoy the calm of the bay with easy access to Lake Huron or relax on your boat enjoying the beautiful sunsets over Tawas Bay.
