James T. Stein began the practice of law in Central Michigan in 1969, and has been continuously serving the needs of this community since that time. He has grown to be admired and respected by all those he has worked for and with. His practice, specializing in Estate Planning, Business Law, Real Estate, and Bankruptcy, has been a staple of the community serving family and business legal needs. He has recently determined he wants to spend more time with family and traveling, to take on a more part time role.

That is where James C. Higgs comes in. He is a young attorney with three years of experience. He had joined a large firm in the Flint, Michigan area, but it became apparent this would not develop into a career. He wanted to flee the city and find a more rural area closer to family to raise his children. Just when he was about to open his own office he was introduced to Mr. Stein.

The two met several times, got to know each other, and met with several clients to be certain of compatibility. When both Jims were comfortable with each other and certain it was the right thing to do Stein and Higgs was born. Jim Stein's experience and knowledge ofthe practice of law and loyalty of clients, combined with Jim Higgs desire to serve and enthusiasm for helping those clients has formed a fine firm, dedicated to quality legal work and service to the needs of clients and the community.
