Rappha Medical Center is a Christian, evangelical, medical practice striving to provide care to the whole person. We believe that man is an integrated triune being created in the image of God; therefore, treatment must be rendered to a physical, emotional and spiritual person.
We also believe in the infallible truth that God is Jehovah Rappha (yeh-ho-vaw’ raw-faw’), The Lord our Healer or The Lord that Heals, as spoken in Exodus 15:26. These words were given after God used a tree to change bitter waters making them good for drinking, a form of healing. Additionally, we believe that Jesus completed a perfect work on the cross. The tree of Jesus’ death has taken our bitterness and has healed our diseases.
Saying, if you will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord your God and will do what is right in His sight, and will listen to and obey His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon you which I brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you (Jehovah Rappha). Exodus 15:26(Amplified)
At the time this scripture was written, a name was not only a form of identification, but also an identity which explained purpose. Throughout Scripture God reveals His personality and nature through His names. Jehovah is translated as “The Existing One” or “Lord.” The chief meaning of Jehovah is derived from the Hebrew word Havah meaning “to be” or “to exist,” but it also suggests “to become” or “to become known.” Rappha means “to restore,” “to heal” or “to make healthful” in Hebrew. Jehovah is the Great Physician who heals the physical, emotional and spiritual (bitterness of life) needs of His people.
It is our resolve to direct all praise and honor to the Lord our Healer as we recognize that
“We treat but God heals.”
