EBAY HAS NOTHING ON US!!! 20 weeks later, the online auctions are hotter than ever. Every Thursday, 1000s of people have been logging in and bidding on everything from trucks to vending machines and furniture to tools.
“What I like most about their online auction is that you, like, can't be out bid in the last second,” - Deborah Stern, Detroit
The Auction Block's online auctions guarantee that you will never be outbid in the last second. The online auctions end at 8pm every Thursday. If a bid is placed within 10 minutes of the close, the auction is automatically extended by 10 minutes. So, if a bid is placed at 7:55, the auction is extended to 8:05. If another bid is placed at 8:03, the auction is extended to 8:13. This process is continued until no more bids are placed in a 10-minute window. EBAY HAS NOTHING ON US!!!
The first Saturday of the month is still our Police Seized Goods auction. People have been driving from across the state and even Ohio and Indiana to bid on TV's, DVD players, jewelry, household goods, art, and electronics. All of the items in The Police Seized Goods auction have been confiscated by the City of Detroit and proceeds of the auction are returned to the city.
