Christmas Gift Giving Project This year's Christmas Gift Project starts on November 20, with the posting of names and gift-relevant information for the people of Church of the Messiah for whom we will demonstrate the love of God, and the love of Christ Church Grosse Pointe through our gifts. Sheets with the name, age (children 14 and under are in green), gender, sizes, and interests of each gift recipient is posted in the Undercroft to help you choose a gift. Drop off your gifts in the church lobby no later than Sunday, December 12 at noon.
Meet the MacBeths Sunday, November 21. The Rev. Dr. Andrew MacBeth and his wife, Sybil, will be with us on Sunday the 21st for services and a brief "Meet and Greet" at 10am in the undercroft before the Adult Forum. Plan to attend to offer a warm welcome to the MacBeths.
Advent Series This year's Advent Series reflects on beloved hymns of the season. This four-session Advent study explains the history behind some of our favorite carols and helps us encounter the rich wording anew. Focusing on the ways in which words and music can speak to the core of our experiences, we will spend time in reflection, conversation, and simple enjoyment of these beloved hymns. PRH Discovering the Core of My Identity: A Workshop in Growth - Ron Spann, Facilitator. December 3-5, 2010: 9am–2:30pm.
This workshop is rich with resources for learning to focus on the essential aspects of your personality, and thus to distinguish what is core to your identity from what is not. Such distinctions are important because of their impact on how you live out your activities, your relationships, your beliefs and values at every stage of your development.

"come-as-you are" service with no music.
8:00am - Traditional worship service with no music.
9:00am - A family-friendly service accompanied by the Choir of Girls and Men and a children’s sermon.
11:15am - A traditional service featuring a sung Eucharist accompanied by the Choir of Men & Boys.
