Having explored metalworking in her fathers workshop as a child, Sarah Stanton is no stranger to soldering and dremel tools. Her jewelry, which strikes a refreshing balance between the architectural and the whimsical, has long been a customer favorite at the Dexter Picture Frame Co. She cleverly walks the vintage/modern line, giving new life to unexpected materials, including buttons, rulers and dice. Online, fans have described her work as fun, funky, urban.

When not designing jewelry, Sarah serves as the executive director for the Huron Valley Habitat for Humanity.

Rosemary Shepherd: Celebrating color and light

Rosemary Shepherds passion is glass. During her 20+ years of stained glass restoration, she has had the opportunity to restore Tiffany and Armstrong windows to their former glory, while creating new glass of her own. She apprenticed under nationally renowned glassblower, Harry Boyer for six years and started creating bead-based jewelry 15 years ago. She incorporated beads that she has made into her pieces. Most of those beads are cane beads- mouth blown into a "cane", then cut to size.
Whats her source of inspiration? Always color and light. I spend my summers working outside in the wilderness, and so nature is a big influence. And the joy of creating always plays a big part.

Doctor and self-described magpie, Leslie Parsels creates jewelry to relax and to make use of her boxes of baubles and bits. Leslie is a multiple-time donor to Picture Frame Co.s annual Circle of Art fundraiser for Food Gatherers. If youre a Circle of Art attendee, you probably remember the bidding war caused by her World Necklace!
