Featured Artist, November 2010: Katie J. Terpstra
Born and raised on the shores of Lake Michigan, Katie's active imagination grew into a passion for acting at a very young age. A native of Zeeland, Michigan, Katie graduated from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a minor in Communication. During her four years at Hope, Katie did everything from acting to designing to directing, often simultaneously. She also spent three unforgettable summers working in the prop shop of the Hope Summer Repertory Theatre.
From styling wigs and sewing buttons to sanding drywall, Katie continues to do it all as a PRTC apprentice. She was a benchplayer for Our Town and is now working backstage as the production assistant stage manager for Best of Friends. Katie graduates from the PRTC apprenticeship program in December.
