Mediation is a confidential process where the various parties in the dispute meet with a trained neutral personthe mediatorto work out an acceptable resolution. In mediation the parties themselves find options to resolve differences. They voluntarily enter into settlement agreements. No mediator will decide who is right or who is wrong, identify how a matter should be resolved, or otherwise take sides. The mediators job is to help parties communicate, clarify the issues to resolve the differences and find mutually beneficial solutions for the matter in dispute.
