Welcome to the Douglas Tree Farm and Nursery website. We are one of the areas oldest and largest growers of fine quality shade, flowering and evergreen trees. Our nursery is inspected and licensed by the state of Michigan. We have been growing trees since 1958 and continue to improve on our product line and horticultural techniques. Our trees are priced grower direct to you - no middle man. We also feature some field clearance specials to save you even more. Douglas Tree Farm & Nursery welcomes large and small purchases alike.
We have over 150 varieties of shade, flowering and evergreen trees in an assortment of sizes, some up to 20' tall. We grow all of our trees for Michigan hardiness. We grow most standard varieties plus European Beech and many other unusual varieties for your discriminating tastes. When we are aware of new trees becoming available that we feel have public appeal, we don't hesitate to give them a trial on our farm. As a result, you will discover trees that are difficult to find at other establishments. We are also genuine growers so you know our trees are Michigan grown and hardy for our climate. We specialize in trees only - no shrubbery.
Our deciduous trees are all grown under drip irrigation for a compact, well formed root system that is critical for excellent transplanting success. We fertilize our trees 2-3 times yearly to insure strong growth and healthy foliage. All off these efforts translate into top quality trees for you to enjoy for many years to come.
We are a full service tree farm offering delivery and/or planting, however we do not do site preparations or full landscaping.
Douglas Tree Farm is a growing operation, and we dig and move trees when it is best for the tree; Spring and Fall! We begin reserving trees for Fall moving in mid-August. We open for Spring in mid-March.
We show trees by appointment only to insure that you get our uninterrupted attention. We like to allow about 2 hours per appointment, because many of our customers enjoy walking the farm and looking at all of the trees available. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing for walking in the country.
