Michigan Energy Audits is dedicated to protecting assets through energy efficiency. M.E.A. was incorporated to help residential and commercial customers combat the rising cost of energy here in Michigan. We accomplish this through energy audits, energy ratings and recommended energy efficiency improvements that make financial sense, short term and long term. We offer scientific and unbiased audits of your energy use and building components with state of the art diagnostic tools, cutting edge software modeling and the most progressive building science principles being taught today. Established in 2007, M.E.A. is committed to customer service, the reduction of energy and ultimately reducing energy costs. Located in Clarkston, Michigan, M.E.A. services Metro Detroit, Southeast Michigan, and parts of Northern Michigan.

All of our energy auditors are certified by RESNET as Energy Raters. RESNET is well know in the energy efficiency, green building and alternative energy community; but, as an average citizen, you probably have not heard of RESNET. It is an organization that trains, tests, retests and mandates continuing education in order to produce building science experts. All of our raters are trained to rate new and existing homes to Energy Star requirements. With access to Professional Engineers and a C.E.M.(certified energy manager), no building is too complicated or too large to evaluate.

Our staff is courteous and professional. We show up as scheduled and perform our tasks with integrity and purpose. As a Michigan company, we understand the importance of reducing recurring costs in our challenging economy. Please visit our incentives pageto take advantage of unprecedented energy efficiency incentives from local utilities and the federal government.

According to the Department of Energy, energy efficiency is the most effective means for our great nation to reduce its fossil fuel consumption. For every dollar spent on energy efficiency the customer will reap a savings of 4 dollars over the life of the building. It is more cost effective than solar arrays, wind power, or ethanol additives. This is true because most of our buildings were constructed when energy was cheap. Many homes and commercial buildings do not even have insulation, and those that do, insulation was considered a low priority, often improperly installed by the lowest bidder.

The typical ROI (return on investment) for work done for energy efficient purposes is 4-6 years.

There is no doubt we will eventually run out of fossil fuels. On our way to discovering the next best energy source, we have to conserve the fuels that we already have. The market will determine the cost of this transition and many experts predict it will be an expensive and tulmultous time. Remember how much energy cost just 50 years ago? What will it be in 50 years?

Increasing energy efficiency not only saves you money, but it will teach your children the value of conservation. It will be their world to protect in the near future.

For the average American, making your home energy efficient will reduce your carbon footprint more than buying a hybrid vehicle.
