Jesus said, The kingdom of God is like this:
a person scatters seed on the land, goes to bed at night, gets up in the morning,
and the seed sprouts and grows how, she does not know.
It was God who made the seed grow.
Jesus parable of the seeds speaks of the mystery of growth. Is it not a marvel and miracle when something new unfolds.a bud opening to full bloom, a tulip breaking through the earth, bare trees coming fully alive in vibrant green! Every day, the mystery of growth takes place, not just on land, but within the human spirit. There is a God Seed growing in each of us.
First United Methodist Church is a growing place. We root ourselves in the Great Commandment: Love God. Love Neighbor. Love Yourself. And through prayer, study, worship, mission and so much more, we nourish growth in our understanding of Gods extravagant and inclusive love. But it is not enough to simply learn about love. We give our hearts and lives to putting that love into action in every dimension of our lives.
Are you a person who is seeking? Do you long for something more in your life? Is something stirring in your spirit? It may be a longing for connection with community. It may be a search for a deeper purpose. It may be a desire for a more intentional daily walk in faith. Whatever it is, I invite you to join us and see what God offers you here!
