Congratulations to Kathy Roche-Wallace who recently competed in and finished the Virginia Triple Ironman earning her an invitation to the 2011 Race Across America (RAAM). The RAAM is a cross country ultra endurance bike race and is one of the most respected and longest running annual endurance events holding legendary stature the world over. Unlike other famous races, like the Tour de France, RAAM is not a stage race. The race is one stage, live to the very end. In RAAM, once the clock starts on the west coast, the clock doesn't stop until each racer reaches the finish line on the east coast. The RAAM is 30% longer than the Tour de France and solo racers finish in half the time with no rest days. This will be Kathys first encounter with the RAAM, however, she is no stranger to ultra endurance events having competed in multiple triple ironmans and several 12 and 24 hour cycling events. Kathys ride in the RAAM will be a tremendous undertaking not only by Kathy, but also by her support team. We are currently in the process of putting together a support team and are looking for volunteers. The most critical position to fill is that of the Team Manager.
