Welcome to the Helen Newberry Joy Hospital and Healthcare Center of Newberry, Michigan. Located in the heart of the Eastern Upper Peninsula, we offer a variety of services with a convenient location.

"Quality care when you need it."In addition to three outlying clinics in Curtis, Engadine and Paradise, we have dedicated Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants staffing our Gibson Family Health Center (10 hours/day 7 days/week for same-day appointments and walk-in services).

Our emergency department is open 24 hours/day 7 days/week and is fully staffed with specially trained Emergency Department Physicians.

Services include a state-of-the-art laboratory, and a state -of-the-art diagnostic imaging department, including Helical CT, nuclear Medicine, ultrasound, mammography, radiographic/fluroscopic equipment, and DEXA scanning (for bone density). Additionally we have mobile MRI services, and are affiliated with a mobile audiology lab. Chemotherapy and IV infusions are administered on an out-patient basis by a full time specialty nurse.

Helen Newberry Joy Hospital is JCAHO Accredited and provides a wide range of services as one of the most technologically advanced, up-to-date diagnostic centers in the Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Surgical services are provided by a Board Certified surgeon and a number of surgical specialists that rotate through our specialty clinic, including but not limited to: orthopedic, urology, endoscopy, oncology, OB/Gyn, ophthalmology, podiatry, laparoscopic and arthroscopic surgical needs. Many other specialists also schedule appointments at our Specialty Clinic including among others: cardiology, neurology, rehabilitation, pre-natal care, chiropractic, sleep medicine, nephrology and audiology. The Hospital also utilizes telehealth services.
Complete rehabilitation services are provided by Physical and Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Cardiac Rehab Nurses, Cardio-Pulmonary staff, and a Certified Massage Therapist.

Attached to the Hospital is a 48-bed Long Term Care Department with full-time care for the resident Elders provided by a dedicated team of Nurses and Aides.

Helen Newberry Joy Hospital is a member of the Upper Peninsula Health Care Network and the proud recipent of the Governor's Award of Excellence consecutively for the last three years.
