Oakland Physical Therapy P.C. was established in 1981 by physical therapists Frank and Kristie Kava. The practice was one of the first private practices specializing in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Oakland Physical Therapy, P.C. has rehabilitated thousands of patients with orthopedic, diagnoses ranging from joint sprains, muscle injuries and post-fracture care to post-surgical rehabilitation of orthopedic conditions. Many patients are treated for neck and back pain as well as pain in all of the extremity joints. Our primary goal is to restore pain free normal function by relieving pain, decreasing stiffness and improving strength, endurance and flexibility. This is accomplished with Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, Exercise Training and Patient Education.
ORTHOPEDIC MANUAL PHYSICAL THERAPY
Our physical therapists are trained in special manual techniques that treat both the stiff joints and the tight muscles and differs greatly from other practitioners. Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy is the skilled mobilization and manipulation of both the joints and soft tissue and is an integral part of the treatment plan.
Exercise programs are individually designed to achieve and maintain optimal performance and conditioning. Expert training with written instructions and illustrations are provided by the physical therapists.
PATIENT EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION
Advising the patient in efficient movement patterns and stable postures for all daily household, occupational, recreational and athletic activities is emphasized.
