Patients are offered state-of-the-art diagnostic and management services for all diseases of the lungs. Pulmonary function testing and chest x-rays are available in the office. Special lung imaging studies and bronchoscopic procedures are performed at either of the hospitals affiliated with the practice.
Consultation is also available for patients needing critical care or with sleep apnea.

What is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep Apnea is a disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea causes a person to stop breathing while sleeping sometimes as many as 200 to 500 times during the course of a night. Each time breathing stops, the body’s major organs are deprived of oxygen and there is a rise in carbon dioxide. During the time that the body is not breathing, sometimes as long as 90 seconds, blood pressure rises sharply and the heart slows down, skips beats or may even stop for a few seconds.
