Want to experience an "up north" golf course with the convenience of a Metro Detroit location? Rattle Run Golf Course is the answer for you! Built on 178 acres in Southwestern St. Clair County, with easy access off 1-94 from Detroit, this 18-hole course is back on top as one of the finest public golf courses in the United States.
Designed in 1977 by Lou Powers, a past president of the Michigan PGA, the 18-hole course plays to 6,900 from back tees and is a true test of golf.
Golf Digest ranked Rattle Run as one of the top 75 courses in the United States and number one in Michigan, and is listed in Robert McCord's reference book, The 479 Best Public Golf Courses in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Nestled among hardwoods, the golfer will experience the feeling of being in "Northern Michigan," as wildlife abounds in the rivers, ponds, and vegetation throughout the course. Golfers are struck by the beauty of the tree-lined fairways.
After teeing off, golfers get a firsthand look at the 78 bunkers and water hazards which majestically wind their way through 15 of the 18 holes. It pays to be in the fairway. The rolling and open course has strategically placed trees that really come into play on second shots. Dramatic elevation changes are reminiscent of the top Northern Michigan course.
