J. Malcom Yonkers Sr. started the Grand Rapids Lighting Center with a formal opening in 1970. J.M. had 44 years experience with a local electrical supply company before starting the new business. With the fact that J.M. had so much experience before creating Grand Rapids Lighting Centers, it gives our customers the trust in us that we are very knowledgable in the business and would never sell our customers something that wasn't top quality.
In January of 2005 Grand Rapids Lighting moved into its brand new 10,000 Sq ft showroom, with a 17,500 Sq ft warehouse. With all of the new space, Grand Rapids Lighting Centers is able to house many more lighting products, giving our customers a bigger variety to choose from.
