WhenYou Have a Question . . .
If you are not sure if you need to hire an attorney for a particular problem, call our office for a consultation. We will tell you if you do not have a legal problem. If you do, we can arrange a meeting with an attorney to help make sure that your legal matter does not become more serious and to make sure that your legal rights are protected.
When You Need an Attorney . . .
When you call our office with a legal problem, you will be able to speak directly with an attorney who can initially determine whether or not you will need legal representation. If legal services are necessary, you will be provided with a prompt office appointment at a time convenient to you.
How Much Will It Cost?
The cost of our help depends on the type of services you require. Before we begin work on your legal case we will discuss with you the types of legal remedies and alternatives available to you and the estimated fees and costs involved in pursuing them. We will provide you with a copy of your signed Fee Agreement, setting forth the anticipated fees and costs based on the expected course of legal events, the extent of the work we are authorized to do and its cost to you. For many matters, a flat fee based on the complexity of the work involved is appropriate, so you pay one fee to cover the entire cost of that service. Some work is undertaken on an hourly basis, where the fees are based on the time actually spent on your legal matter for which you will be billed monthly.
Payment of a retainer (an advance deposit of fees) will be required before any work is done on your case and your attorney will tell you in advance when the balance is due. As the work progresses, if there are unexpected developments or complications which necessitate a longer time to complete your work or greater expense than originally anticipated, we will inform you as soon as we recognize that fact.
