Who we are:

The ministry started from a home bible study and fellowship group of several families who were meeting weekly at the home of Robert and Linda Storey in Oak Grove, Michigan. As the church grew it was necessary to relocate to a larger facility in Fowlerville in January of 2000. In May 2001, the ministry purchased 5.5 acres of property on Grand River, one mile east of downtown Fowlerville for the purpose of constructing a new facility to meet its growing needs. In September 2001, the Handy Township Board of Fowlerville approved plans for a 6600 square foot building and a 12,000 square foot future addition. Construction began in the fall of 2002 and was completed in May of 2003. The current building is able to accommodate approximately 110 families and the future addition will allow for approximately 240 families.

Place of Refuge Ministries is led by Senior Pastor Robert Storey along with Associate Pastor Gregory Cline. As of today, approximately 50 families consider Place of Refuge their home church.
