RLM-PAC success leads to prolife state legislature
The Right to Life of Michigan Political Action Committee (RLM-PAC) endorsed 117 candidates for state legislative races in the 2010 general election and came away with 95 victories for a success rate of 81.2 percent.

U of M researchers kill human embryos for stem cell line
The University of Michigan announced they've created Michigan's first embryonic stem cell line. The line was created by removing cells from and thus killing a human embryo. Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, "While we knew University of Michigan researchers were planning on killing human embryos for their cells, we are saddened to know that human beings were sacrificed without their consent for this unproven research. Embryos who do not have a voice are human enough for experimentation, but not human enough to be given a chance at life." MORE

Aborted babies found in dumpster
Right to Life of Michigan was shocked and saddened to learn that the bodies of 17 aborted babies were found thrown into a common dumpster at a Lansing-area abortion business. The babies were found on February 26, 2010, which led to an investigation by the Michigan Attorney General and the Eaton and Saginaw counties sheriff departments. MORE
Michigan's abortions decreased in 2009
According to statistics from the Michigan Department of Community Health, the number of abortions in Michigan decreased by 13.9 percent in 2009. The report states that 22,357 abortions were performed in Michigan during 2009 compared to 25,970 in 2008. The data from 2009 represents the lowest number of reported abortions in Michigan since reporting began in 1979. Since 1987, there has been a 54.4 percent decrease in the number of Michigan abortions. MORE
Planned Parenthood abortions up, adoptions down
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) released their 2008 report on services they provide. According to the report, PPFA performed 324,008 abortions in 2008, an increase of 6 percent from 2007. Despite this increase, they only served 9,433 prenatal clients and referred 2,405 clients to adoption agencies in 2008. MORE
Abortion provisions in health care reform law warrant concern
After more than a year of bitter debate, the U.S. House of Representatives on Sunday, March 21, gave final approval to a massive health care restructuring bill, H.R. 3590, strongly opposed by Right to Life of Michigan and National Right to Life Committee because of the bills anti-life measures. MORE
